Seamus Dever started acting at the age of six. His first taste of theatre was as one of the “little no neck monster” children in a local high school production of “Cat On A Hot Tin Roof”. In 25 years since, he has acted in more than 50 plays

He was born in Flint, Michigan and moved to Bullhead City, Arizona when he was young. His mother is a History Professor and his father is a Drama and English teacher. He was Vice President of his student body and Valedictorian of his high school class. By the time Seamus went to University, he had acted in 18 plays and musicals.

In college at Northern Arizona University, he discovered the challenge of Shakespeare and since has read the entire canon and performed in 15 of the plays. While at NAU, Seamus studied Theatre and Broadcast Journalism. He was part of the news staff at NPR station KNAU while being actively involved in the Theatre program. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in only three years and was accepted into the graduate program at prestigious Carnegie-Mellon University and The Moscow Art Theatre. This program took him from Boston to Pittsburgh to Moscow, Russia while studying with the best drama teachers from both countries. He is the youngest person to have completed this program.

At 21, he graduated and moved to his adopted home of Los Angeles. Working in Los Angeles Theatre he has been involved in many premiere productions and is well known in this circle. He played Alex in the LA Premiere of “A Clockwork Orange”. This won him rave reviews and nominations for the Ovation Awards, Garland Awards, and Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards. A highlight of his LA Theatre career was “iWitness” at the Tony Award Winning regional theatre: The Mark Taper Forum.

Seamus is best known to television audiences as Dr. Getti on Lifetime’s Army Wives and Dr. Ian Devlin on ABC’s General Hospital. He has other notable guest star appearances on CSI, Cold Case, Charmed, Close To Home, Without A Trace, CSI: Miami, Ghost Whisperer, Mad Men, CSI: New York, JAG, and NCIS. His feature film work includes “Hollywoodland” and the indie comedy “Ready or Not”.

He is proud member of the Los Angeles classical theatre company, Antaeus and a lifetime member of the renowned Actor’s Studio. Every labor day, Seamus both performs and directs at The Westport Shakespeare Festival in Upstate New York. This is an annual project that he shares with his Grad School classmates that presents free outdoor Shakespeare to the upper Adirondacks.

His wife Juliana is also an actor and they have two rescue dogs that they have adopted. Seamus enjoys playing piano, dramatic writing, and carpentry. He runs, plays basketball, boxing, cycling, weight training, and yoga. Coming from two teachers as parents, Seamus teaches acting with an emphasis in the ideas of Konstantin Stanislavsky. He also excels in voice, movement training, and accent instruction. Seamus believes in nurturing the next generation of actors with the same care and encouragement that was given to him.
